The Ego Of Your Subconscious

When I wrote out all the topics I wanted to blog about for all of 2020, I had something completely different written in for today. But when I pulled up the topic, and opened my notebook to start writing the draft…I had nothing. Not an ounce of inspiration.

Usually when that happens, I turn to my go-to methods of getting fired up about it. But for some reason, today that didn’t feel quite right. Instead it feels very much like I need to take it in a different direction.

As some of you may know, this week I started a pretty big certification (if you’re curious, you can learn more about the Yes Supply Method here). It’ll take me roughly two months (if I’m able to go at the suggested pace) to get completely through the certification, because it’s so in depth. I’m only a handful of lessons in, and I have already learned SO much. And the biggest thing that has stood out to me so far is this:

{Perception is projection}

I’ve always known this to a certain degree, and I have often talked about it to the extent of my knowledge. But holy moly…my knowledge on this topic is growing with every lesson I go through for this certification, and it continues to just blow my freaking mind.

So here’s the deal:

Your subconscious mind will never make you out to be a liar.

Your subconscious mind is always going to seek to be proven right. So, it has created a filter that distorts any incoming information to fit in nicely to your current beliefs. That way, it doesn’t rock the boat, and whatever you believe is what you’re going to see when you observe the world.

Now, this is great when you have beliefs that serve you, like “Dang, I’m so strong!”, or “I’m a really great mom”, or “I don’t really like sugar”.

This becomes more of an issue when your beliefs are hurting you. Beliefs like, “My kids deserve better than me”, or “Money is so hard to come by”, or “I’m too overwhelmed to make any changes right now”.

Whether your current beliefs are serving or harming you, those beliefs are what are creating your subconscious filter at this very moment. That filter is only going to show you evidence that further proves those beliefs to be true. Whatever you believe is what you’re going to see when you look out into the world.

So how do you change those beliefs? Well, if you want specific guidance on your specific beliefs, go here to book your free Energy Elevation Session with me, and I’ll help you pinpoint them.

But for now, here is what I can offer you:

• Stop assuming that anything is a “fact” (yes, ANYTHING)

• Start looking at every thought you have as a belief (yes, EVERY thought)

When you create an awareness around your thoughts, and take ownership of them, you are taking the first step toward shifting them in a direction that you’re happy with. And that is a huge first step toward taking ownership of your life, and stepping further into who you truly are.
