Raise your hand if you’re feeling lost amidst the confusion of the world right now!
You’re not alone.
Raise your hand if you’re overwhelmed with the changes that have been thrown at you as of late!
It’s okay.
Raise your hand if you’re struggling in any way to manage your emotions lately!
Again – you’re not alone.
Right now, I just want to give you permission to feel.
Whatever you’re feeling right now? It’s exactly what you need to feel right now. Maybe it’s uncomfortable, unpleasant, or straight-up miserable. And if that’s the case, I’m sorry that you’re dealing with that right now.
But I can promise you that the quickest way out of it is through it.
A good way to get stuck in a negative state is to ignore it…numb it…try to just get rid of it…or shame yourself for it. Negative states absolutely serve a purpose, and it is important to feel them, which is why they’re so stubborn. They’re stubborn because they have a great need to be acknowledged, heard, and felt. Once you allow that energy to actually move through you, it will actually move through you, and find its way to the exit. I promise.
So let yourself feel sad. Acknowledge that fear. See the overwhelm.
Then you will discover more space for joy…love…peace. Whatever positive feelings you’re searching for.
And if through all of this, you’re still feeling lost? That’s okay too. These things take time and practice. And the beautiful thing is, you absolutely have the time to practice these things!
Practice being kind to yourself.
Practice feeling your feelings.
Practice getting used to discomfort.
Practice making space for positivity.
Practice being kind to yourself. That one deserves being said twice.
And for my fellow moms reading this: if you haven’t already, please go claim this free guided meditation that I created specifically about “mom guilt”. I have seen and heard many of you talking about how guilty you feel for various things regarding motherhood lately. I want you to know that you are doing a standup job. This free meditation will help you believe that for yourself.
Have a great week, friends! I’ll talk to you again soon.
