It’s a little ironic that I’m writing this right now, because just the other day, I decided to double down on my efforts to remove some limiting beliefs I have regarding money.
I have come a looooOOOOOooooong way with regards to my relationship with money; and I still have a ways to go.
I think when I initially planned out this blog post (last fall), I hoped that all my financial limiting beliefs would be gone. I should have known better 😉
Because while, yes, I have removed several financial limiting beliefs, and have done a lot of really deep work on this topic, I have recently realized that it will likely be a lifelong process of continuously learning and growing.
Oh hey – just like every. other. area. of life. Yep, I’m definitely still always learning and growing right alongside you.
Have you ever given much conscious thought to what your relationship to money is?
When you hear the word money, what emotions rise to the surface for you?
Maybe fear, anxiety, discomfort, scarcity, frustration, anger, overwhelm….
Or maybe you have a totally different experience, and you feel joy, freedom, abundance, security, confidence, or happiness.
There is never a “right” or “wrong” way to experience your relationship with money.
However, it is incredibly beneficial to be consciously aware of what that relationship is, rather than turning a blind eye and living on autopilot.
Because when you are willing to risk discomfort, and face this relationship head-on, THAT is when you’re able to take actual inventory, and decide whether your relationship with money is serving you or not. Once you do that, guess what comes next?
If you are pleased with the relationship you have with money, the next step is elevating that relationship even more!
And if you’re less than thrilled with your current financial relationship, the next step is actively strengthening that relationship. Because here’s the deal: you don’t get to break up with money.
Money is very much a necessity.
You can’t just stop responding to its texts and hope that it will eventually stop troubling you; because if you do that, eventually it will just flat out leave you. And I know that’s not where you want to be.
I will tell you one big money mindset shift I’ve made in the past year that has been huge.
I’ve talked about this in previous blog posts, so I’ll keep this super super brief. Time and money are two of the biggest priorities in most people’s lives. One is renewable, one is not. Can you guess which is which?
Yep.
Time is not a renewable resource. Once this minute has passed, it’s gone; there is nothing you can do to get it back.
Money is a renewable resource.
There are countless ways to generate more and more and more money. You can even make money while you’re sleeping!
That was a really big realization for me, and I had to kind of sit and let it bounce around my brain for awhile before it really took hold, so I’m going to go ahead and sign off with that so you can let it work its way into your beautiful noggin.
